Position Title:  Behavior Interventionist FLSA Status: Exempt

 

Responsible to:  Building Principal and Supervises:  students in Alt.Beh. Classroom

                             GCSEC Director/Coordinator

 

Evaluated by:  Building Principal and/or GCSEC Director/Coordinator

 

Terms of Employment: 183 days

Purpose of the Position:  The Behavior Interventionist serves as a support resource for students demonstrating academic, behavioral, emotional, and/or social challenges that interfere with success in the school setting. This position works collaboratively with classroom teachers, administrators, counselors, and support staff to implement behavior intervention strategies, provide academic and behavioral support, and assist students in developing the skills necessary to be successful within the general education environment.

The Behavior Interventionist helps create a structured, supportive, and positive learning environment while maintaining high expectations for student growth, safety, and success.
