Contract:  220 Days & Salary and Administrative Benefit Package commensurate with

experience

Job Description:

  1. Establishes and maintains an effective learning climate in the school including effectively communicating with students, staff, and parents.
  2. Establishes and maintains favorable relationships with local community groups and individuals to foster understanding and solicit support for overall school objectives and programs; to interpret Board policies and administrative directives; and to discuss and resolve individual student problems.
  3. Programming classes within established guidelines to meet students' needs.
  4. Supervises the guidance program to enhance individual student education and development.
  5. Establishes guidelines for proper student conduct and maintains student discipline.
  6. Supervises and provides strong instructional leadership to the teaching staff.
  7. Oversees planning, organization, and implementation of all school activities.
  8. Initiates, designs, and implements programs to meet specific needs of the school.
  9. Evaluates and counsels all staff members regarding their individual and group performance.
  10. Attends special events held to recognize student achievement, and attend school sponsored activities, functions, and athletic events.
  11. Performs such other tasks as may be assigned by the Superintendent or Board.

Personal and Professional Responsibilities:

  1. Must hold a valid Indiana Administrators license.
  2. Administrative experience preferred but not required.
  3. Establishes and maintains favorable relationships with local community groups and individuals to foster understanding and solicit support for overall school objectives and programs; to interpret Board policies and administrative directives; and to discuss and resolve individual student problems.
  4. Support School Corporation decisions and direction relative to matters of policy and administrative directives. 
  5. Work as a team player.
  6. Demonstrate the ability to deal with sensitive issues in a tactful and professional manner.
  7. Address concerns and other suggestions in an appropriate and confidential manner.
